“Seven Summits of Big Bear”

Why do we climb them? Because they’re there

Ever catch yourself looking around our valley and thinking about standing up on the top any of our high peaks? How about getting to stand on all of them?

This is your chance to really play in your own backyard. What an accomplishment it will be for you to be able to know and say that you have visited all of Big Bear’s peaks AND that you did it in one year!

'the BIG ONE': San Gorgonio!

Free!

That’s right. No cost. Just come join us and be part of an exclusive “club” of outdoor enthusiasts that will do something in Big Bear that most locals would never even believe they could do.

These free events are led and organized by local athletes and coaches who train in our mountains year-round.

We will start with our first peak on March 29 and conclude with the “biggie” San Gorgonio on August 23, which is the day BEFORE our local Olympian Ryan Hall will race in Beijing. We want to log all these miles on the Move a Million Miles for Ryan Hall campaign, so if you aren’t now logging your miles then get over to the site and get moving!

Mark your calenders for the spring and summer to not miss any of our summit hikes. Hike details including meeting places, what to bring, directions, parking and carpool information will be notified via email on the Yahoo group for ActiveBigBear, so you must sign up as a member (also free).
